Annyen Lam – 30sec film artists Q&A

What’s your favorite thing to do when you are alone?

Cook.

How do you usually get inspired again after working on a big project/painting?

I take a small break to decompress. Rest is a crucial part of my process and I often need to force myself to "do nothing" - which can be difficult but will create a clean slate for the next project. I take some time to travel (within or out of the city). I clean my studio, which has a similar effect on my mind.

Do you collect things?

Prints, ceramics, rocks and crystals.

What's the last great book you read?

"A Little Life" by Hanya Yanagihara.

What super power do you want to have?

Healing people.

What’s your craziest dream?

Over countless occasions I've had multilayered dreams-within-dreams, "Inception" style.

What project/art are you hoping to create but haven’t got chance to do yet?

I'd love to do more collaborative work, or more public pieces, or a combination of the two.
